We drug out our air popper to make some popcorn for the family while the boys watched “Cars” the movie….go figure since that is the only movie Zach ever asks to watch. It was the 1st time for the boys to see an air popper in action and they got a huge kick out of it. It is now how they always ask for their popcorn to be made – cheaper and healthier than microwave kind!

Back to school for Drew after 3 days off because of the ice and snow

Zach’s poor pacifier! He can’t even suck it any more since he has bitten wholes in both sides, but he still insists that he needs it. This is his final one, and once it is gone there are no more.

Over night we FINALLY received some real snow (maybe 2 inches at the most). This morning the boys spent playing with the Walker girls (Peyton & Addison)…their parents had come over to get them out of the house since there was no school again today. Then, after Zach’s nap, Jen took the boys out to play in the snow. Since we don’t have a sled, they improvised by use the top of a large plastic box. This was the first time on any sort of sled for both the boys. Drew LOVED it…Zach not so much since they crashed at the bottom and Drew ended up on top of him…with Zach’s face planted in the snow. That did NOT make him happy! Drew and I wanted to make a snowman, but surprisingly the snow was too dry to even make a small snowball.

Over night we received over an inch of ice and sleet. Thankfully this year it was mostly in the form of sleet. This storm brought with it Drew’s first “snow days” for this school year. He was out of school Tuesday-Thursday.

Drew’s yearly dental check-up. Once again he did a great job of sitting still for the hygienist. This year they thankfully had to do very little scraping…just a little plaque build-up behind his top two teeth.

Our church. We are very anxious to see what God has in store for our church this year with a complete replacement of our staff coming.

Light Saber fighting with Grandpa Stroud. Zach was hilarious with this! Every time he would get “hit” he would dramatically throw himself to the ground and groan.

Warm weather – high of 66! The boys and I went to the playground at Sonic with the Walker girls after picking Drew & Peyton up from school.

This has been Zach’s daily medicine regiment lately: Motrin (4x daily – for fever), Benadryl (6x daily – for runny nose), Delsym (2x daily – for cough), Clarithromycin (2x daily – for pneumonia), Albuteral (as needed for wheezing), saline solution ( as needed to clear nose) & cool mist humidifier (during sleep/nap)

Zach had been fighting a high fever all weekend. It peaked after his nap today at 104.4 so I took him in to be checked out. Dr. Hearty sent us over to have his chest x-rayed to check for pneumonia. They said they couldn’t be sure that was what it was, but they thought it probably was. So now Zach started on Clarithromycin.

When I went to use my new washing machine this afternoon, this is what a saw….Lego heads! With Drew’s love of Legos it is not unusual to find them throughout the house…but this is the strangest place yet. These were courtesy of Zach.

My new washer and dryer have FINALLY arrived! John ordered them back before Thanksgiving during a huge sale at Sears. They sold so many of them they had to be put on backorder. So since we moved at the beginning of December I have had to drag our dirty laundry back to our old house in Springfield (where we left our old set).

One of the places I REALLY miss now that we have moved down to Republic is Target! We use to live very close to the one in Springfield and I fell in love with the store.

Zach can usually be found carrying a vehicle with him where ever he goes. Some of his current favorites are these miniature versions of the "Cars" Movie characters.

It was a big day at our church. Preacher sent out a postcard to all the church members the past week asking everyone to attend that he wanted to have a “heart to heart” talk with the members about his “impending retirement”. There was more news than just him retiring though! We also find out that our youth pastor (Phil Hopkins & his wife, Jen) and our associate pastor (Scott Harrop & his wife, Joy) were resigning! 2009 looks to be a HUGE year of change for PCBC!

When I stopped by Bed, Bath & Beyond this afternoon to order a new kitchen trashcan, I decided to go check out what sort of bedding sets they had…since we were still needing something for the guest bedroom downstairs. I’m glad I did!! I found this bed set that I fell in love with at first site. Now we are really ready for people to come visit.

Time for an eye check up for Jen! Pretty crazy the cost now days! Almost $300 for the check and replacing the lenses of my glasses. That doesn’t count the cost of $110 for 6 months of my Accuve contacts!

Drew brought home a project from school today made of toothpicks and mini marshmallows…not too long after getting home I found Zach in the kitchen eating the marshmallows!

They DO love each other!! Sometimes I wonder since it often seems like all they do is fight. Here they even posed together sporting their Wii pj pants from Grandma & Grandpa Hawkins.
